The click feeling of metal domes

Sometimes we have received customers’ complaints of the click feeling of metal domes, In fact, according to the results of our tests, the data is in the normal range. But why customers complain about this issue?

The click feeling of metal domes = (force- reforce)/force, this is click feeling, usually controlled between 45% -75%. In fact, in metal domes production process, each lot have a little different for the force,so little change also for the feeling. In this industry for the tolerance of metal domes, it’s generally controlled at +/-30g range,so it’s impossible to control in exactly the same feeling.

So as long as it is not outside the tolerance range, it can still be acceptable.

The metal dome array adhesive sheet is not strong?

Does the metal dome array adhesive sheet is not very strong? Recently we have received complaints of the two guests on the adhesive is not very strong. In fact, this is the same as we usually make the metal dome array.
Then how could this problem happen? We analyze and have the following specific reasons:
1, The metal dome for metal dome array is four-leg metal dome and triangle metal dome, they are with very high force and stroke;
2, The dome arrays of customers is not very adequate to stick, too little. Generally to maintain a minimum of 2mm distance to edge.

Generally speaking, our regular dome array can not have this problem. For this kind dome array, we can use the stronger adhesive sheet to solve this problem now. Please don’t worry about this issue.

What is the one key dome array?

One key dome array is the dome array with only one metal dome(snapdome), this commonly used in only one button or key switches with far away applications.

In general, there are about dozens of metal domes(snap domes) for one conductive film, you can peel off and paste it into your circuit board.We can do this one key dome array with any shapes of metal domes, but triangle metal dome and four-leg metal dome are usedvery often including stainless steel, nickel and gold-plated, are not the problem. For the large snap domes, such as 12.2mm diameter, it may will paste not very firmly. Now you do not have to worry about,
as we already have mature experience.
